CHILL - Chișinău Literary Laboratory is an international festival dedicated to contemporary literature, translation and cultural dialogue. For eight days, the city becomes a meeting place for writers, translators, publishers, journalists, artists, book professionals and readers from the Republic of Moldova and Europe.

Chișinău is located almost halfway between Baku, the easternmost capital of the Eastern Partnership states, and Brussels, the institutional center of the European Union: 1,873 km to Baku and 1,855 km to Brussels, as the crow flies. The festival concept starts from the symbolic and cultural, but also geographical, position of Chisinau: a city located between East and West, between languages, histories and sensibilities that interact, influence each other and are reflected in culture and literature. CHILL promotes Romanian culture throughout the Romanian space, highlighting the common language, the shared cultural heritage and the lively dialogue between authors, publishers and readers from both banks of the Prut.

The festival includes literary meetings, public readings, book launches, debates, film screenings, exhibitions, professional workshops and educational activities. Through CHILL Network, the program also reaches high schools and universities, encouraging reading, creativity, collaboration and young people's access to culture.

The fourth edition of the CHILL Festival - Chișinău Literary Laboratory takes place between September 17-24, 2026 and brings together, in the Republic of Moldova, important names in contemporary literature from 11 countries.
